9/27 - UPDATE ON POOCH FROM HIS FOSTER MOM...
Pooch has put on some weight. I don’t feel his bones as much. And he has perked up so much. He loves to play but not with toys. He feels comfortable around the other dogs with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Sleeps in his bed right next to my bed all night. He will go to the door to be let out all on his own now that he knows what door to go to. He’s eating really good too. Oh and he likes to lay under my coffee table when I’m on the couch.
9/25 - PCM RESCUE WELCOMES POOCH....
Pooch was picked up by a good citizen wandering the streets. She contacted us and we agreed to do the stray hold. We picked him up on 9/13 the day after he was found. We contacted GCAC to let them know we had him in case his people were looking for him and he was posted on FTLOL page, our rescue page and my personal page which was shared a lot. His owners never came forward and stray hold is well over with. I am not surprised considering his condition. I am posting pics of his underside when he came in. I was able to get the bigger mats off that were hanging down but he was not letting me do anymore. So he went to the vet where we did bloodwork, HW test and DHPP then had to put him under to shave his underside so he would not be hurt and we could see what his condition was under there. He did have a skin infection and was given a shot of Convenia which is a slow release antibiotic and he went to experienced foster. He was under weight and ungroomed for a very long time. We are taking it slowly due to his age which vet estimated at 11-12 years old. He got a full bath yesterday and was running around like a young dog! He is getting groceries and will be with us for a month or two until we can get him back into shape then he will be neutered.
